Happy Birthday Kate

Kate is 11 today!
Yesterday we celebrated Kate's birthday. The only thing she has wanted was to go to The Spiderwick Chronicles movie. And she was so excited that it was released the weekend of her birthday. So off we went, 5 cute girls and me to the movies. Here are some pictures of our outing.
The girls had a great time. Had lots of popcorn and watched the movie with great suspense. After we stuffed ourselves with popcorn and a movie, we went to the house for presents, pizza and cake.

Kate received some fun things from her friends and family. Everyone had a good time and headed for home.

Then late in the eve, Grandpa arrived.

This is Kate, with a 102.5 temp, opening Grandma and Grandpa's present. I think one of the top picks for the day. I am trying to decide if she likes it because it is and ipod, or because she has over 150 songs and still 6GB left. Which she will convert to MB for you to show just how big of memory it has.

Her favorite part is the back. It has her name engraved and who it is from right on the back of her ipod. This she feels will keep it safe from her sister Mary, who, when she heard Kate was getting one, kidly offered to take this one and wrap the one that Mary owns and give that to her sister for her birthday. Isn't that so thoughtful of my eldest daughter. :-) Needless to say, Kate has her claim and alas, poor Mary must keep her own Nano. ;P

So it was a wonderful Birthday weekend for Kate!!

It looks like a very fun birthday. An iPod is a very awesome gift. Thanks to her Uncle Justin's Apple discount, we got Maddie one for her birthday last year (the old style nano). She loves it, but keeps misplacing it. Ben came up with the great idea of checking books on CD out form the library and loading them onto her iPod. She has quite the Beverly Cleary library on it along with several Nancy Drew mysteries. By the way, I'm happy to give you craigslist tips any time.
