Spring Break

I have been a huge slacker in keeping my blog updated. We have had a busy couple of weeks. Just days after Sarah's birthday, we got in our car and DROVE to Florida. I have that is caps, because other than our moves, we have not had a car ride in a very long time. The drive to Florida is 16 hours. I learned many things on our voyage, the first being I am very grateful for modern technology. ie, DS, ipod, dvd players. Yes we used them all, even a boogie board to separate the two on the bench. :-)
We had a fabulous time and a crazy schedule. We got in very late on Saturday night, my aunt and uncle so kindly waited up for us. We had a little time with them, they flew home Sunday morning.
Sunday was a beautiful day for the beach. We spent the day enjoying the sun and warm weather. It was so nice.
Monday we went to Busch Gardens Africa (in Tampa). The kids had a great time. It was a perfect day for an amusement park. The weather was not too hot.
Tuesday we took a drive to Orlando. The weather was cold and windy, so perfect for driving the two hours to Orlando. We went to Downtown Disney, really just an excuse to spend truck loads of money, but as my sis in law said, "when you throw money at the mouse, he throws happy memories back" Good one!!
Wednesday: Mouse day. We started the day at Epcot (my favorite park) We had so much fun wondering and hitting a couple of rides. After lunch we packed up and headed for MK. Talk about crowded. We managed to hit most of the rides we wanted by the time the park closed at 1 am. Yes the majority of the rides occurred from 11 pm until 1 am. It was VERY busy. But we still had a fabulous time. We drove back to Tampa that night, arriving at 3 am.
Thursday: Most of us slept until noon. It was a long day on Wednesday. When we woke, it was another beautiful beach day. That night we went on a dinner cruise. The kids had a great time. We walked around Clearwater and went home for packing.
Friday/Saturday Travel home days. This time we took two days, not just one. Slightly easier on the attitudes. :-) We arrived home about 4 hours before our friends arrived at our home for their spring break.
Whew!!
