So along the lines of playing catch up, I am now at the 4th of July. We went to see the fireworks in DC for the first time ever. We have never gone downtown before. We always do local fireworks and neighborhood things.
This year some friends asked us to join them on the banks of the Potomac to watch the fireworks. We thought we should try it out. So we packed the car with food and blankets and chairs. We drove to the Virginia side, right across from the Washington monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Pitched a tent and set up a grill, put some blankets down and brought out some snacks. Then some of us took a walk across the bridge to the memorials. While we were there, we were told there was a tornado watch and they wanted us to be ready to evacuate the area. Fun eh?
